Tournament of Champions

Characters
A minimum of 16 combatants + 3 non-combatants is required for this game to run. Spectators of all ages are very welcome and even encouraged, especially if they are in medieval or fantasy costume.
Costume
Medieval or fantasy costume, armour and larp safe shields and weapons will be needed. A helmet is highly recommended, but not compulsory. A chair or stool to sit on while not fighting is also recommended as is a cup from which to take water. Shields may not be taller or wider than than two feet (610mm) and will be measured before being allowed onto the field.

Background
Hear yea, hear yea, hear yea! Be it known to all men and women who profess excellence in skill at arms, that on Saturday the 31st of August, at one hour past noon, there shall be a coming together of like-minded people. These stalwart warriors will compete on foot, with sword and shield, axes and maces, single sword and great weapons. They shall fight in the round and across the barrier until one of them clearly has held the field against all comers. That person shall have earned the title of "Tournament Champion, Chimera 2013."
Interested parties should contact the herald prior to the event, expressing an interest in the event and introducing themselves.
