As basic or as geekily detailed as you like. Officially, all characters are dressed as normal humans (or at least attempting to dress that way), but I'm not going to stop anyone from turning up in Starfleet Uniform/Wizard Robes/Exact Replica of that Outfit from Episode 7, if that's what you want to do.
